Two Bass Hit Phily Joe Jones Drum Cover by Peter Meluso

This tune was recorded by Sonny Clark with Paul Chambers on Bass and Philly Joe Jones on Drums. It was done in 1957 at the Rudy Van Gelder Studio. The song was written by Dizzy Gillespie and John Lewis and there are a number of versions. In this one, you can hear Sonny cCark's distinctive blues style piano with Philly Joe j Jones providing a clinic in Jazz Comping. Since we have been focused on Jazz Comping for the last several weeks, I thought this would be a great way to illustrate several of the ideas we covered.
