Video Games set across the world are many, but how often do they recreate real world cities to scale? More often than not, titles like Assassin's Creed, GTA, Watch Dogs, Yakuza, GhostWire Tokyo, and many more shrink their maps in order to keep the open world navigable and interesting, sometimes by orders of magnitudes. At first, you may think this shrinking is a bit of a disappointment, especially considering how far we came with newer and newer technologies in the past decade, and yet I would argue that it is actually a net positive that we are getting smaller, but dense open worlds. Game design takes priority when making an interesting city within a game, not geographic accuracy, and in this video I explain why. Hope you will enjoy the video! :) Instagram account:   / yt_bluefox098   0:00 - Intro 0:52 - Discussion 7:41 - Epilogue #gaming #videogames #gamedesign
