Pip's sound gate only opens for the right sound - and today it learns to listen to the MIDDLE of a word.
Apple, egg, igloo, octopus, umbrella... then cat, hen, pig, dog and sun!
WHAT THIS TEACHES
The five short vowel sounds: a as in apple, e as in egg, i as in igloo,
o as in octopus, u as in umbrella. First the gate listens to the front
of each word. Then the line under the word moves to the middle, and
your child listens for the vowel inside a three-letter word - the step
just before reading words like cat, hen, pig, dog and sun.
WHO IT IS FOR
4 and 5 year olds - preschool, pre-K and kindergarten - who know some
letter sounds. After every question there is a real pause so your child
can shout 'open!' or 'shut!'.
