The government of Canada recently announced that they will be hiking capital gains taxes which directly serves to disincentive doctors from working in Canada and might leave millions of people without access to healthcare... or at least, that's been the headline for the last 2 weeks. But is that really the case? As a new family doctor working in Canada, I wanted to weigh in with my thoughts on the whole situation.
