Danny Tan's Throwback #64 Year 1997: YOU LIFT ME UP won the Grand Prize at the 2nd Asia Song Festival in Hong Kong in 1997. Jaya won Best Interpreter. Hal David - lyricist of Burt Bacharach - was the Chairman of the Board of Judges. It was a proud moment for the Philippine delegation for the double victory which was unprecedented in the history of this competition. Year 1998: The Philippines hosted the 1998 Asia Song Festival. KATHA, the Organization of Filipino Composers was the Festival's Organizing Committee - I was the Chairman and Dodjie, the President. In one of the production numbers, Jaya - Best Interpreter Awardee - performed YOU LIFT ME UP - Grand Prize Winner of the 1997 Asia Song Festival Hong Kong - composed by Danny Tan and Dodjie Simon.
