Rufford Abbey Country Park

Video shows our trip to Rufford Abbey Country Park on 31st October 2023. The Abbey was a Cistercian Monastery until it was dissolved by Henry VII after which it became a Country House the estate having been granted to George talbot husband to Bess of Harwick. Purchased by Nottinghamshire County Council entry to the estate is free with a £5 fee for parking. The Abbey is partly demolished and only viewable from outside. There are a number of cafes and a formal garden ( not open due to events during our visit). English heritage manage the estate for NCC. A perfect place for a walk or picnic. There are events run throughout the year to enjoy.
