Hidden Kamakura in the Rain ☔️🌿 In this quiet journey through Kamakura, I visit two beautiful temples known for their flowers: Zuisenji and Kaizoji. Rain deepens the green of the moss-covered stone steps. At Zuisenji, I wander through its peaceful rock garden, said to have been created by Muso Soseki. In the autumn garden, a swallowtail butterfly appears among the vivid red spider lilies. At Kaizoji, I explore the mysterious Juroku-no-I, or “Sixteen Wells,” hidden deep inside a cave. Their true purpose remains uncertain, adding to the quiet mystery of this historic place. After visiting the temples, I stop for a colorful lunch at Umi Kamakura Organic Restaurant. Then I continue through the nostalgic Marushichi Shopping Street and Onari Street, where traces of old Showa-era Kamakura still remain. The journey ends at +h café kamakura, a hidden café surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sound of rain. Kamakura feels a little different on a rainy day. Quieter, deeper, and somehow more beautiful.
