Why Is CHEAP Plastic Stronger?! This Makes NO Sense!

We tested composite wood stud brackets to failure with a crane to find the strongest option for shipping container framing. This is our second round comparison test with regular ABS vs glass-filled nylon resin. We changed the mold with auto-align flanges and a rear gusset so you can't cut your stud too long and you keep foam around your 2x4. ABS hit 370kg with a 2x4, nylon broke around 300kg, then ABS with a 2x6 went to 568kg — around 1300lbs per stud — until the screws ripped out. A thermally broken bracket keeps wood off steel to help manage moisture. If you want a low-cost solution that holds, this test points to ABS. Hope Ya Learn Something!
