Black Bart

🏴‍☠️ BLACK BART — Bartholomew Roberts | Pirate Legends A reluctant pirate who became one of the most successful captains of the Golden Age. “Black Bart” tells the story of Bartholomew Roberts, the Welsh sailor who rose from captured crewman to feared pirate captain. After his ship was taken by Howell Davis in 1719, Roberts joined the pirates. Following Davis’s death, he was elected captain — and what followed became one of the most extraordinary careers in pirate history. From the Caribbean to the coast of Africa, Roberts and his crews captured hundreds of vessels. Dressed in scarlet, commanding ships bearing the name Royal Fortune, he built a reputation for discipline, audacity and relentless success at sea. But in 1722, off Cape Lopez, HMS Swallow finally found him. Struck down by grapeshot during battle, Roberts was wrapped and thrown into the sea by his crew, according to his wishes. The captain was gone. The Fortune became legend. 🏴‍☠️ Hundreds of prizes. ⚔️ One Royal Fortune. 👑 One king of the sea. 🎵 Track 06 — Black Bart 💿 Pirate Legends #BlackBart #BartholomewRoberts #PirateLegends #PirateMusic #RoyalFortune #GoldenAgeOfPiracy #EpicPirateMusic #Pirates #PirateHistory
