Florida Just Discovered a NEW Predator Infesting Its Waters — And It's NOT a Python! Florida's Burmese pythons get all the headlines, but another invader has been living in the state's canals and wetlands for more than 60 years, and scientists now say it has spread further than anyone realized. In this video, you'll see how a century of draining and replumbing the Everglades built perfect hideouts for tropical animals, how saving the American alligator pushed a lookalike reptile into the pet trade, and what researchers found inside the stomachs of the caimans they removed. You'll also learn why this predator competes with native alligators and crocodiles, how crews are tracking it with spotlights and thermal cameras, and why the Everglades restoration plan may be helping it spread. #SpectacledCaiman #Florida #Everglades #InvasiveSpecies #BurmesePython #Wildlife spectacled caiman, caiman florida, florida invasive species, everglades invasive species, florida new predator, invasive predator florida, burmese python, burmese pythons everglades, american alligator, american crocodile, everglades, everglades restoration, florida canals, caiman crocodilus, invasive reptiles florida, croc docs, homestead florida caiman, wildlife documentary, nature documentary, invasive species documentary
