Fujifilm GFX 50S in 2026 — Still Worth It?

The Fujifilm GFX 50S is almost ten years old. It’s big, slow, and its autofocus definitely shows its age — yet I somehow ended up carrying it through freezing Scandinavia and later into the Sahara. In this video, I share what it’s actually like to travel with the original GFX 50S in 2026, why I still love the files from its 51MP medium format sensor, and where this camera starts to fall apart. From trying to photograph running huskies in Scandinavia to shooting landscapes and astrophotography in the Sahara, these trips showed me both sides of the GFX 50S. It may not be the fastest or most practical camera I own — but some of the images it produces still feel genuinely special.
