Our relationship with medication can be complex. When you depend on it to stay well, there can be a lot of ‘background anxiety’ associated with this. This might be due to worries about longer (or short-term) side-effects, the fear of it becoming ineffective over time, or a worry that changes in prescribing regulations (or supply chains) might make it unavailable.
Aleha Inayat, who lives with a pituitary condition, talks to Rareminds CCO and Founder Kym Winter about how to manage this background anxiety and work out your own relationship to the medication that you are on that feels ‘good enough’.
Pituitary disorders are considered rare. It is estimated that there are around 70,000 pituitary patients in the United Kingdom. Some conditions are more common than others. You can find out more from The Pituitary Foundation, the UK's leading charity supporting people affected by pituitary conditions. They work with experts to provide information and support to those living with pituitary conditions and their loved ones and support networks. https://www.pituitary.org.uk/
