L&T's Precast Factory Powers Breakthrough in Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Rail Project
Janasu, Uttarakhand: Engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has emerged as a key player in the ambitious Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Rail Project, thanks to its state-of-the-art precast segment factory located in Janasu, along the banks of the Alaknanda River.
Specially established to produce tunnel segments, the factory has played a pivotal role in the rapid construction of the 14.57-kilometre-long Tunnel No. 8, which stretches between Devprayag and Janasu. Despite the formidable challenges posed by the Himalayan terrain, the facility has enabled efficient and precise engineering execution.
L&T's facility not only underscores the company's commitment to cutting-edge infrastructure development but also aligns with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. By setting new benchmarks in tunnel construction, it showcases how innovation and indigenous capabilities are reshaping India’s infrastructure landscape.
