This day we had the same itinerary as Nov 8: birding along Nulla Nulla Creek Rd & Postmans Trail. The difference today is that I spent one hour snorkeling in Five Day Creek too. We also spent most of the day socialising with my friends. Along Postmans we had a stop along the top of the ridge and saw Red-browed Treecreeper and heard a singing Lyrebird a bit down the slope. Never saw it. We had some nice Lepidoptera encounters as well. 00:00 Info & itinerary map 00:16 Quick morning birding around Bellmeadow Homestead 01:31 Driving & birding along Nulla Nulla. Birds seen: Little Corella, White-throated Gerygone & Red-backed Fairywren (still no Variegated). 03:35 Postmans Trail begins, with flowers, butterflies and a youngish Lace Monitor. Plus Red-browed Treecreeper and a distantly singing Lyrebird with photos from Evans Lookout over the audio. 07:07 iPhone footage of our descent along Postmans, to the valley and Five Day Creek. 11:41 Video of my snorkeling adventure in Five Day Creek, filmed with my primitive point-and-shoot. Fishes seen: Dubolay's Rainbowfish (aka Crimson-spotted Rainbowfish), Australian Smelt (probably, not 100% certain), Cox's Gudgeon and Speckled Longfin Eel. 18:12 Back on land, with a Dragonfly and Butterflies along Postmans, on our way back to Bellbrook.
