Kirby Star Allies: Soul Melter EX - Marx in 12:09.74

Marx is a rare case where my record is far behind the world record for him. Surprisingly though, he is the only Dream Friend where no speedrun footage for Soul Melter EX exists at all, so I figure I may as well do it. Marx is hard to pin down. He's a bit of a setup character because he can use Time-Bomb Jester Ball while an enemy's defense is high. He can set up to three before they explode, then follow up with a Ball Kick Shot or Rush to send them all careening at the enemy, causing heavy hitlag and damage when they explode. After the setup, his best strategy is generally Marx Megaspin. It makes him pretty good for the air and he can even use Teleport to change altitude while keeping his midair dash state, allowing him to repeatedly use it without every touching the ground. Rapidly canceling Marx Flip Ultima is also sometimes an option, but I have trouble figuring out when it is superior. For a few grounded enemies, namely the knights and Goldon and Silvox, it's mostly Ball Kick Shot spam. This run was kind of messy with a ton of misinputs. Every time I flew into the ground for Shadow Uppercut was a mistake. Hyness was good, but I was constantly dropping Megaspins, and I can partially blame that on having to record with the Switch 2 capture button itself. Flamberge, Void, and the Mages felt like pretty bad chokes. Despite all of that, I still ended up within 20 seconds of my record. For a character where I honestly have a ton of trouble pushing past my record, I considered that acceptable.
