Edgar Bainton - The white pathway

Edgar Bainton (1880—1956) was an English-born composer who spent much of his later life in Australia. He is best known today for his choral works, though his overall output is undergoing revival. Here is a set of "three easy pieces for pianoforte" titled The White Pathway, an ancient Gaelic term for the starry sky according to the footnotes. While structurally and technically modest, the music communicates a lot of interesting harmonies and ideas. 0:00 1. The Fairy Javelin of Midir 1:29 2. The White Procession 2:49 3. Where Rainbows Bloom
