False Witnesses

“False Witnesses” is a hard-hitting Christian gospel-rock song about deception, division, spiritual discernment, and standing firmly upon the Word of God when competing voices attempt to pull believers away from truth. Driven by powerful electric guitar, a commanding lead vocal, gospel-style backing voices, and a revival-like chorus, the song carries a much stronger and more confrontational sound than a traditional worship song. The music builds around the warning contained in the lyrics: deception does not always arrive looking like deception. Sometimes it comes through persuasive words, attractive promises, and ideas that sound righteous while producing division. The song uses the biblical image of the serpent and the warning against false witnesses to challenge listeners to examine teachings by their fruit and by Scripture rather than simply accepting what sounds appealing. At the center of the song is also a call for unity—not unity that abandons truth, but unity grounded in one faith and a shared foundation in God. While the verses warn about confusion and doctrines that divide, the chorus answers with a declaration: “We stand for true unity, in spirit and might—one faith, one purpose, shining ever so bright!” The bridge brings everything back to the foundation: the Word stands eternal. When teachings change, movements rise and fall, and voices compete for attention, the song calls believers back to Scripture and the cross as the standard by which every message should be tested. “False Witnesses” is ultimately a call to discernment. Do not follow something merely because it is popular, persuasive, or wrapped in spiritual language. Test what you hear, hold fast to what is true, reject deception, and refuse to allow lies to divide the body of believers. Unity in His name. No division. Only truth.
