The drive to Keem Bay on Achill Island, Ireland from neighbouring Keel. This drive was done on an uncharacteristically sunny March morning. During summer, this beach and its car parks can get very full but at this time of year, visitors are vastly outnumbered by sheep. Notoriously, Captain Charles Boycott owned a house a little up from the beach, the remains of which can still be seen. The bay and beach were featured in the film, 'The Banshees of Inisherin' with the house seen in the thumbnail standing in as the exterior of the house owned by the Brendan Gleason character. Keem also serves as an ideal starting point for a climb up Croaghaun (688 m) and Ireland's highest sea cliffs. The small ruin seen on the crest of the hill south of the bay is a WWII lookout post.
