In this video, I demonstrate the effect of UV/IR cut filters for star size reduction in astrophotography. I compare filters from the economically priced SVBony brand and high-end Baader Planetarium brand. The results look good for both brands on my imaging system. The data suggests that my budget-priced imaging rig optics does not gain any advantage by using a high-end (high priced) filter. However, I speculate and caution about mixing budget filters with high-end optical systems. This video explores all these considerations.
