Andy Williams - '50s Hits Medley (1988)

In 1987, Andy Williams debuted "America the Beautiful," a touring show that highlighted his career and featured several new production numbers dedicated to Irving Berlin, George M. Cohan, the big band era, and gospel music. Also included was a fresh presentation of his early hits on the Cadence label -- Butterfly, Are You Sincere, I Like Your Kind of Love, Lonely Street, and (In the Summertime) You Don't Want My Love -- with updated arrangements and choreography. Until this time, Andy had avoided the rockabilly "Butterfly" and "I Like Your Kind of Love," but here he finally decided to celebrate and showcase them as bona fide career achievements. Although "America the Beautiful" didn't catch on the way Andy had hoped, he continued to use the production numbers in his concerts, television specials, and shows at his Moon River Theatre in Branson, MO. This spirited performance of his '50s hits medley, backed by a large orchestra, is from his 1988 television appearance on "Music Fair" in Japan.
