PIRATEN IN BATAVIA EUROPA-PARK PLANET COASTER

Pirates in Batavia (also known as Pirates' Cave on park maps) is a pirate-themed scenic boat ride. Opened in 1987 in the Dutch part of Europa-Park, it was destroyed by a massive fire on May 26, 2018. It reopened on July 28, 2020, with a new story, new scenery, and more modern technology. The Europa-Park website describes it this way: "The main attraction in the Dutch Quarter is the Pirates of Batavia Tour. Let yourself be tempted by this adventure and experience an unforgettable journey through wonderful settings. Enter an old Dutch fort that will transport you to the Dutch East Indies. After a visit to the port of Batavia (now Jakarta), you will embark on a journey full of adventures: witness a battle between Dutch and pirates, the siege of a peaceful town before heading to the rainforest where your journey will end. Sumptuous settings and larger-than-life pirates await you."
