Light On A Hill

Light on a Hill (LOAH) is a youth-led community organization dedicated to nurturing the next generation of environmental stewards, empowering children aged 5-12 to care for the world around them. Founded in 2020 by local leader Kandi Makandi, LOAH encourages hands-on, jubilant environmental education that is designed to be engaging, accessible, and rooted in sparking a fire within the local kids who take part in the group’s joyful programs. By reaching children early - in this rural area of Kenya where no other kids’ programs like this exist - LOAH singularly provides a critically-needed outlet and sanctuary for youth here — devoted to shaping confident, informed eco-champions who are empowered to care for the world around them, today and into the future.
