Thomas Mann's Doktor Faustus is a deeply complex, and at times confounding, novel about the Second World War, music, theology, intellectual traditions and so much more. Like many of Mann's novels, this work is a challenge for many readers, but for US Americans, I think you will find many timely, although upsetting, comments on society. Works Mentioned (you will see that unlike most deep dives, I do not provide any recommendations within this video, although I mention several works worth visiting) Der Zauberberg (Magic Mountain) by Thomas Mann    • Let's Talk About Thomas Mann's The Magic M...   The Tunnel by William H.
