A song inspired by the Exodus account—Moses and Aaron before Pharaoh, the ten plagues, and the Israelites’ release—told through an animated comic-book music video.
LYRICS
Let us go... let us go...
There's a Name above the throne.
Moses and Aaron, one word for the throne:
Jehovah has spoken; these people are His own.
One—Aaron's rod, and the Nile runs red,
No drink from the river, and the fish lie dead.
He turns for his palace, the lesson denied;
Can't drink from a title, can't live off of pride.
Two—frogs in the ovens, the beds and the bowls,
From a servant's small room to the king's own halls.
He begs for relief, then returns to his “no”;
The plague lets up, but his pride won't go.
Three—dust to gnats; now the priests can't repeat it,
Their secrets fall short; even they have to see it.
God's hand at work, but the king won't yield—
Truth at the door, but his pride is the shield.
Let us go, let us go,
There's a Name above the throne.
Jehovah, let the whole earth know—
No king can change the word You spoke.
Let us go, let us go,
You won't leave Your own.
Four—gadflies swarm, but one land stays clear;
Goshen is spared; Jehovah's hand is here.
Five—disease in the fields, Egypt's livestock fall;
Israel's herds spared, not one lost at all.
Six—soot from the kiln, boils burn and sting;
Priests can't face Moses, much less save the king.
Every false refuge is losing its hold,
Yet Pharaoh grips harder, refuses to fold.
Let us go, let us go,
There's a Name above the throne.
Your word is stronger than his “no”;
Jehovah, You won't leave Your own.
Seven—sky cracks, hail strikes, fire in the rain;
Trees split, fields hit, thunder on the plain.
Those heeding the warning bring their servants inside;
Goshen stays clear as the storm sweeps wide.
Eight—east wind lifts up a hunger with wings;
Locusts strip bare all the green that still clings.
He asks for relief, then it's back to “no”—
Wants the pain to leave, not the people to go.
Nine... three days swallowed in night,
Yet Israel's homes are filled with light.
A darkness so heavy, no face can be seen;
Still You remember the ones You will free.
Blood on the doorposts, blood up above,
We follow Your word, we trust in Your love.
Sandals are fastened, the staff in our hands;
Waiting together, we heed Your commands.
Ten—midnight. A cry fills the night;
Egypt's firstborn have lost their lives.
From Pharaoh's house to the captive confined,
Firstborn of livestock—the judgment arrives.
But the marked homes rest in Jehovah's care;
He sees the blood; death does not enter there.
Now Pharaoh sends word: take your people and leave,
Go worship Jehovah. At last they're released.
Let us go...
It's time to go.
Here we go, here we go,
There's a Name above the throne.
Jehovah, let the whole earth know—
No king could change the word You spoke.
Here we go, here we go,
You have freed Your own.
Not the strength of our hands, not the might of a throne.
Jehovah has done it. He brought out His own.
Here we go...
You won't leave Your own.
