Dairy is dying in Vermont. In 1950, there were over 11,000 dairies. Today there are ~500. This is the story of Woodlawn Farmstead (@woodlawnfarmvt), a small dairy adapting to survive vertically integrating. The Leach family produces milk for award-winning Vermont cheese brands like Plymouth Cheese, Crowley cheese, Cabot, and Hildene. Now they’re growing their own crops and have launched a cheese line of their own.
