One of America's most iconic structures, the George Washington Bridge (Interstate 95) opened in 1931 and connects Fort Lee, NJ with Upper Manhattan, New York City across the Hudson River. The bridge has a main suspension span of 3,500 ft. and its two towers stand 610 ft. tall. The bridge's lower level was added in the early 1960s, opening to traffic in 1962. The bridge's two decks carry a total of 14 lanes and it is among the busiest bridges in the world today.
