Should Brent Venables BE BLAMED For The Offense? | Will The Running Backs Get Some Love?

Oklahoma Sooners’ offensive woes in the spotlight as John Mateer's turnover struggles raise big questions ahead of the Red River Showdown against Texas. Can Mateer break his habit of risky decisions, or will ball security continue to derail the Sooners’ season? John Williams and Jay Smith dissect Mateer’s recent performances, Ben Arbuckle’s Air Raid experiment, and the impact of inconsistent play-calling and injuries on Oklahoma’s lackluster run game. The episode breaks down Brent Venables’ coaching decisions, Bill Bedenbaugh’s offensive line legacy, and the ongoing debate over running back usage, with Jonathan Hatton emerging as a potential workhorse. Listeners get insights on NIL drama, practice-to-game execution issues, and whether the Sooners’ staff shakeups could rescue their chances against SEC heavyweights. Will Oklahoma finally find an offensive rhythm and restore fan confidence, or are more frustrating Saturday afternoons ahead?
