Gang of Youths - Wollongong - 6 August 2026

Two weeks before their two sold out Sydney Opera House concerts, Gang of Youths announced an intimate warm up show at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul. It sold out in less than ten minutes but the presale gods favoured me for a change. They played 15 songs, including three debuts. I captured one of the new songs and four others: unison (00:07) Things Take Time (05:43) Do Not Let Your Spirit Wane (09:02) Go Farther in Lightness (17:04) in the wake of your leave (19:23) Despite Dave saying several times that he was out of practice, he, the band and special guests all sounded great. And the audience was stoked to see them back on an Australia stage. A very special night.
