Starting with the foundations of probability theory and Bayes’ Theorem, the course explores how Bayesian statistical inference can be applied to real-world data and research questions. The course is particularly relevant to researchers, PhD students, students in the social sciences, and anyone interested in developing practical skills in Bayesian statistics. About the Instructor Prof. Mel Slater is a Distinguished Investigator at the University of Barcelona and co-Director of the Event Lab (Experimental Virtual Environments for Neuroscience and Technology). He is internationally recognised for his pioneering research in virtual reality and is a recipient of the IEEE Virtual Reality Career Award and the Humboldt Research Prize (2020).
