Trains at Harlington (MML)

An outcast afternoon spent at Harlington where I cycled to to film and the trek to the station was worth it too, as plenty of traction came through including: Thameslink class 700s (one on an ECS), EMR 222s (all variants) and 360s (This was after the May Timetable change, hence there were no HSTs unfortunately), and some class 66s courtesy of Freightliner and DB Cargo to top it off. Info: Harlington railway station was opened by the Midland Railway in 1869 with initial intentions of calling it Harlington for Toddington, as its purpose was to serve Harlington, Toddington as well as Barton-le-Clay. The station is also not to be confused with Hayes & Harlington station on the GWML. In the year 1909, the current stationmaster at the time, William Drake dies accidentally whilst directing shunting operations at the station. The buildings at the station are still in the original condition bar a refurbishment in the 1980s. As well as that, more modern facilities have also been installed with the likes of: Shelters on each platform 1 telephone 1 ticket machine Cycle storage for 44 bicycles and a car park with 127 spots. And a plusbus service for nearby areas, in the same area as Flitwick. The village of Harlington nearby to the M1 motorway, being 1.5 miles away from Junction 12, and Luton Airport 8 miles south. It was initally called Herlingdone with Nigel D'Albini as the Lord of Harlington Manor. When the Black Death happened, over a quarter of the village were victims of it and in that same period, the Church of St Mary the Virgin was built. Services: During Non Covid times, 4 Trains an hour go to Bedford, with 2 going the other way to Brighton via London Bridge, 2 an hour to Gatwick Airport via London Bridge and Redhill. Other than that, regular freight passes with the likes of 2 EMR services an hour to Corby, 2 to Sheffield, one via Derby and the other direct and 2 an hour to Nottingham (1 an hour via Derby and 1 an hour via East Midlands Parkway) Thanks for watching and Sorry for the Delay!
