How do you build a machine with blades longer than a football field, then lift it hundreds of feet into the air to turn wind into electricity?
In this video, we follow the complete journey of a modern wind turbine, from raw materials inside the factory to a fully working giant spinning in the wind. You’ll see how composite layers are infused with resin, cured, trimmed, bonded, and coated to form massive, lightweight blades, while thick steel plates are rolled and welded into towering tower sections. We then step inside the assembly of the hub, gearbox, generator, and control systems, and watch as every major component is inspected and tested before leaving the factory.
But manufacturing is only half the challenge. Giant cranes lift the tower sections into place, raise the nacelle high above the ground, and attach the enormous blades to the rotor. Engineers then connect the electrical systems and test the turbine’s mechanics, controls, and power generation, bringing it to life.
From raw materials to a fully working turbine, this is the incredible engineering behind one of the world’s most impressive renewable energy technologies.
