In this lab, we implement network-level security controls in AWS by configuring Security Groups (AWS's virtual firewall) to allow and deny specific ports, then verify that the rules are actually enforced.
🔹 What you'll learn:
What Security Groups are and how they work (stateful, default-deny)
Configuring inbound rules for SSH (22), HTTP (80), and HTTPS (443)
Understanding how AWS handles "deny" (by simply not allowing a port)
Attaching a security group to an EC2 instance
Testing rule enforcement: successful SSH login, live website access, and a blocked port
Watching real-time rule changes take effect without restarting the instance
