The Field & Forest Railway 8th Birthday Bash Gala Day 1 2026

Join The Field & Forest Garden Railway in celebrating their 8th birthday of operation. On 25th August 2018, the railway opened and operated full services. A lot has changed and expanded since then but the passion continues on. For the whole week, the railway saw a range of services with both freight & passenger along with a huge range of different locos operating and captured over a 3 day period. Today is the first day of the event, in which we begin with the very first loco the railway bought, No.3 Stainz along with the European Balcony coaches. Running alongside Stainz No.3 was Borsig No. 99 5001 which would be sharing passenger duties along with running the occasional freight. Furthermore one of the latest locos for the railway to acquire would be electric shunter No.5 'Minty' hauling a pair of salt wagons. In addition to No.5, Feldbahn Diesel Shunter 'Hummy' would be out on fire duty making sure that the lineside was damp, to allow steam engines to run. After the steam passenger services drew to a close it was time for Purple Diesel Shunter No.3 'Berry' to double head along with No.5 with the quarry hopper train.
