From Industrial Vision to Classroom Practice: How We Integrate Robotics Insights into Our Lessons 🤖⚙️ During the international ROS-Industrial Developers Meeting held on August 11, we had the opportunity to examine the live system integration between ROS2 and industrial PLC architecture (Roxy) alongside Siemens experts Florian and Philip. Taking the floor during the session, I directly asked them the questions that both my students and I were curious about. We are now actively integrating the technical insights and valuable recommendations shared by Florian and Philip into our ICT and Educational Robotics curriculum: Industrial Data Flow Logic: By connecting our students' sensor-actuator setups with industrial communication architectures, we bridge foundational coding concepts with real-world engineering standards. Problem-Driven Task Design: In line with the RoboCup framework highlighted by the experts, we design hands-on engineering challenges—such as autonomous sorting, maze navigation, and search-and-rescue tasks—rather than relying on rote algorithms. Sustainable Peer Mentorship: Implementing the "self-sufficient team model" emphasized during the session, we cultivate a lasting robotics club culture where experienced students actively mentor newcomers, ensuring institutional knowledge remains within the school.
