Welcome to African Family Village Life! Today in the village, a warm meal comes together from scratch over the traditional stove. Our beans are gently boiling while Mama Viola wraps the soft posho in banana leaves to keep it warm and flavorful, placing it back on the fire. Nearby, Phiona prepares the rice, adjusting the water just right with a helping hand from our granddaughter Angel, who brings over the spices. With cooking underway, Mama Viola and the kids head down to the village well, faithfully escorted by our dog, Max. Along the path, we catch a quiet moment watching a snail crawl by. Soon, the weather shifts and it starts drizzling; Mama Viola and Muwanga quickly take shelter to stay dry, while Papa Viola makes his way back home through the rain. Back at the homestead, progress continues as our new kitchen construction nears completion and we transition to roofing. Muwanga expertly trims the extra reeds to give the structure its final shape. Outside, our dog plays joyfully with the goats, and Venna and Fred lead the herd out for grazing.
