Via Ferrata in Italy, Val San Nicolò, Dolomiti. Magnifici Quattro 4. The hardest via ferrata I've tried in Italy by now! Made it in about 5h. This via ferrata is dedicated to the 4 mountain rescue volunteers, Alex, Diego, Erwin and Luca who died here not far away in Val Lasties on 26 December 2009. EXTREMELY Difficult and long via ferrata taking you somewhere up on the mountain and the top-out at the very pleasant Rifugio Baita Cuz. Not for beginners and people in poor physical shape. Few negative sections. The via ferrata consists of 3 sections and the 1st one and the 3rd one are the hardest. 2nd section is mostly traverse and hiking. Approach: Long walk but with a lot of land marks and sign till the via ferrata start. Getting back: And 2x long walk back down till the car park. It's good to have entire day booked for this trip. Good luck!
