We’re still riding the energy from the Volumes Up Season One screening at MoshPit on 22 September, and we’re continuing to share some of the conversations and stories from the night. In this BTS interview, we catch up with Gomer Yaved Lapudo'oh and his wife, Sharyn Lapudo'oh, the wonderful couple behind Bean & Barrel Café on Marion Street, Leichhardt. Gomer and Sharyn are deeply connected with the Indonesian community, and their café has become a place where people, culture, conversation and music come together. Gomer is also an Indonesian solo artist, so naturally, we had to talk music. His latest single, “TIKUS KORUPTOR”, has now been released on YouTube, and we encourage you to check it out and support his work as an independent artist. This is what Volumes Up is all about. Not just the music, but the people behind it. The communities that support it. The venues, cafés, artists and audiences that keep independent music alive.
