I'm still re learning the workflow on the MPC 1000 and gaining back the muscle memory, but honestly for a sampler that came out (almost) two decades ago, this thing really still holds up. It’s definitely more of a casual cook-up than a step-by-step MPC 1000 tutorial. I’m still learning the machine myself, so the video is a little all over the place, but I think that gives a pretty honest look at what it’s like to actually sit down and make a beat on one. With so much attention around the newer MPCs lately, especially the blue MPC One G2, I thought it would be interesting to spend some time with one of the older blue MPCs and see what still makes the MPC 1000 such a popular piece of hardware.
