Vitaly Scherbo (Unified Team) | Vault 2 | 1992 Barcelona Olympics – Event Finals

Vitaly Scherbo, competing for the Unified Team (EUN) at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, performed a second vault that would later be named after him. He scored a 9.856 in the vault final with a skill that featured a full-twisting back handspring onto the vaulting table followed by a laid-out full twist off. The vault was officially named the “Scherbo” in 1993. Scherbo, originally from Belarus and a former Soviet gymnast, became one of the most decorated gymnasts of the Games.
