This Siu Nim Tau Set is very similar to Yip Man's Hong Kong version with slight variations and additions. There is the crane circular hooking technique and at the end, there are the leg sweep, leg stomping, and the low side kick to the leg or knee. It has also some similarities with Hung Gar at the end with the sliding, stomping, and downward slicing kick whereas in Hung Gar it is often shown as a series of 3 cross-steps. There is also the Bil Jee aka finger jabs at the end. My late Sifu/ teacher in Opera House Wing Chun was Sifu Liang Quok Qiang. He trained and worked as a Cantonese Opera actor living and traveling on the red boats plying the Pearl River in Quang Dong Province since the age of six. Within the fraternity of the Opera House, many other styles like Hung Gar, Dragon, Tiger, Leopard, Praying Mantis techniques were absorbed into the Opera House Wing Chun repertoire. Many legwork and movements were incorporated as part of the training of the opera troupe.
