Girolamo Frescobaldi was the most outstanding composer for keyboard of the first half of the 17th century. His stay in Rome bore fruit in his most important collections: the two volumes of Toccatas d'intavolature and the Fiori musicali. His compositional activity created a school and found in Johann Jakob Froberger one of his most illustrious successors. This program alternates toccatas, partitas and dances by both composers.
