Training Course on Sea Cucumber Farming (2nd 2024 session)

SEAFDEC/AQD conducted a 15-day face-to-face training course on Sandfish (Holothuria scabra) Seed Production, Nursery, and Management at its Tigbauan Main Station in Iloilo, Philippines, on 7 to 22 October 2024. The training was attended by two participants—one from the Philippines and another from Papua New Guinea. The course provided trainees with technical knowledge on sea cucumber culture techniques through expert-led lectures. To enhance their skills, the participants engaged in hands-on exercises and demonstrations, including broodstock preparation, spawning induction, setting up spawning and larval rearing tanks, as well as egg collection, counting, and stocking.
