Continuing our coverage of the 3751's second modern-day trek through Southern California, on the point of the American Association of Private Railcar Owners' special train as it cruised from LA to San Diego, then back up to San Pedro for their yearly convention.
Only two locations shot in this video, the first location is about Milepost 251 of the San Diego Northern Railroad's San Diego Subdivision... Commonly known as the 2.2% Miramar Grade. It's important to note that I don't believe the Diesel units were assisting up the hill as I never heard a request from the steam crew for more power, and didn't hear the GE chug.
Afterward we dropped one of our crew off at Santa Fe Depot to catch 775 home and got lunch, then caught up with the action as the train was being shoved from Old Town to Tecolote in preparation of the power being cut off to be wyed.
Part 3 will be filmed on the wye.
