Remember The First Time You Played the Sega Dreamcast?

Remember the first time you saw the Sega Dreamcast in person? We are reliving that specific moment in 1999. Standing in the aisle at Toys R Us in September 1999 felt like waiting for a glimpse of the future. The demo kiosks were the only way to get hands-on time with the newest hardware, and the line to try the Sega Dreamcast was always packed with eager players. It was a simpler time in 1999 gaming, where you had to be physically present to see if the hype was real. Finally grabbing that controller and booting up Sonic Adventure was a revelation. Seeing Sonic race through a full 3D city environment at such high speed showed us exactly what this console could do. It was a massive leap forward that redefined our expectations for what a home console could achieve, capturing that specific thrill of a new generation that sticks with us decades later.
