A low-pressure area currently over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea is showing signs of strengthening and could develop into Cyclone Arnab in the coming days.According to the latest weather update, the system moved west-northwestwards and was located over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal at 5:30 pm IST on Sunday, 20 September 2026. It is expected to continue its west-northwestward movement and gradually intensify into a depression over the same region on Monday, 21 September.Further strengthening is likely, with the system predicted to become a deep depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal by Tuesday, 22 September. Continuing on the same path, it is very likely to approach the westcentral and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, nearing the north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts by the morning of Wednesday, 23 September.Meteorologists are closely monitoring the system as it gains strength. Residents along the east coast, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, have been advised to stay updated with official weather bulletins.
