I was feeling much better when I woke up this morning and I felt really great when I got to the official halfway mark of the trail in Harpers Ferry at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC)! I’m super proud of myself for making it this far and I can’t wait to continue my journey! Of course, the trail must have sensed how positive I was feeling and decided to bring me back down to earth a bit with some pretty severe weather. Heavy rain and intense thunderstorms left me feeling wet (again), frustrated, and exhausted. I did everything in my bag of tricks to stay to stay as dry as possible today. I hid under a tree, ate lunch under a bridge, had my umbrella out all day, and put my feet in plastic baggies inside my shoes. After a mostly difficult day, the weather finally cleared up a bit, and I decided to push on just a bit toward the next shelter, which resulted in some headlamp hiking and a late arrival at the campsite. I appreciate you watching my Appalachian Trail thru-hike video!
