Mad World on Autoharp

Just me playing the classic pop hit "Mad World" written by Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears. I call this my flower power autoharp. Update: The Cohen-Grappel autoharp endowment funded an album that was professionally created with studio musicians and high-end studio equipment! A HUGE THANK YOU to the people who watched and liked this video! I am so glad I am not that puffy anymore! Holy smokes! That's mostly cortisol. I still don't have it all figured out but check it out if you are in Phoenix AZ we have a community of musicians you will enjoy. North Mountain Brewing, Tempe Center for the Arts, Fiddler's Dream if you're brave, Pho Cao, for starters. Find music groups and clubs in your area. Check the schedules of libraries and community centers. And then there's the autoharp people! Mountain Laurel Autoharp Gathering has been amazing because that's where the autoharp was elevated to an artform (Pennsylvania). I don't know if Kilby Snow had anything to do with that, or if he was influenced by that culture? One of these days I'd like to go to the Winfield Music Festival in Winfield KS. AKA Walnut Valley Festival. The California Autoharp Gathering and the Northwest Autoharp Gathering meet regularly and you can look them up and see if you can make it to one of their gatherings. Autoharp makers include Blueridge instruments by John Hollandsworth, Daigle autoharps by Pete Daigle, The Orthey design went to Greg Schrieber, and Fladmark autoharps are great too! Don't forget Whippoorwill acoustics. Luthier autoharps sound and perform so much better than this autoharp that I was crazy enough to rescue. But, since I did the repairs, it will play exactly like this video for many more years to come, as long as I just don't play it :P Check out my other decent autoharp video "Crazy" by Willie Nelson/Patsy Cline:    • Crazy on Autoharp
