Such intrusions can occur when non-breeding or neighboring pairs attempt to take over a nesting site. Although the chicks are vulnerable, they were not killed in this encounter. Interestingly, the nestlings continue to display begging behavior despite the disturbance, reflecting the strength of instinctive feeding signals. These reactions highlight the complexity of nest interactions, where competition, risk, and survival behaviors overlap. Observations like this provide rare insight into the pressures faced by cavity-nesting birds. This video is meant to document the lives of wild animals so that we can learn more for both educational & research purposes and serve as an aid for the species conservation effort. We do not set up or stage or intervene but only document the lives of wild animals. 🔬 What does this mean? (Quick science note) Nest intrusion and aggression are linked to competition for limited nesting sites. In jackdaws, such encounters may lead to nest takeover attempts. Nestlings often continue begging due to strong innate responses, even under stress, which can influence survival outcomes. 🎥 Watch more from Charter Group Birdcams:    / @chartergroupbirdcams   🎥 Explore Charter Wildlife Cams:    / @charterwildlifecams   Led by Dr. Motti Charter from The Shamir Research Institute and the School of Environmental Studies of the University of Haifa #Jackdaw #Birdcam #Wildlife #Nature #AnimalBehavior #NestIntrusion #BirdWatching #NatureLive #WildlifeCams #Corvids
