Good management of any institution begins at home: Lessons on upbringing, discipline and leadership

In this reflective conversation, I take you back to my father's home, where I was raised, and I share some of the experiences that shaped my approach to discipline, responsibility and leadership. I recall growing up with many rules and responsibilities, including participating in household chores. Looking back, these were not merely rules or demands, but important lessons and training that prepared me for life by teaching discipline, responsibility, respect and the ability to manage different tasks. Drawing from these experiences, I explain why I believe good management starts at home. The habits, values and responsibilities learnt within the family can influence how an individual approaches leadership and manages institutions later in life. I also share tips on proper school management which should focus on adding value and creating better opportunities for learners rather than spending energy on unnecessary conflicts and disagreements.
