East Lancashire Railway Autumn Steam Gala 2026

Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways In this video we are at The East Lancashire Railway for the Saturday & Sunday of their annual autumn steam gala. The visiting locos in attendance for the 2026 event were The Urie Society's S15 30506 from The Mid Hants Railway who was visiting the railway for the 1st time since 1993 which at the time the east lancs were hosting the famous 25 year celebration of the preservation movement. South Eastern & Chatern Railway O1 65 visiting from The Bluebell Railway for the 1st time. The Severn Valley Pannier Tank Fund's pannier tank 7714 from The Severn Valley Railway who is entering the final few months of her current 10 year boiler ticket before withdrawal for her next overhaul. The visitors were supported by the home fleet what we saw during the weekend were 34092 City Of Wells, 80097 & the freshly painted Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway pair in 51456 & 52322 now in their Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway lined black liveries. Mostly focusing on the north of Burrs Country to Townsend Fold Signal Box. It was an interesting challenge in terms of planning as 7714 was facing south towards Bury after an error when she arrived on the back of a lorry all in all the plans payed off nicely. Hats off to the events at the railway for pulling out all the stops on this event & we look forward to seeing what will the 2027 galas will bring.
